303 miles today--- Jackson Hole to Vernal, Utah
took the 191 through Hoback. We followed the Hoback River in and out of the mountains. Stopped for some pictures of Longhorn Antelope. The are scared little things, we didn't even get that close and they ran off. Lots of open plains and vast mix of terrain. Elevation is staying around 5000-6000 ft now. Goes much higher when we actually are in the mountains. Stopped in Rock Springs to eat and a storm came to visit. After checking the weather is was only there, so we decided to head on out and get out of dodge. One hundred miles to go, we continued on 191 which is gorgeous just after Rock Springs. Photo op at the Flaming Gorge. Just as we pulled in a huge cloud covered the sun and we didn't get the pictures we wanted to but its still very beautiful. Fantastic road with tight 20mph curves and lovely rocky views made the rest of the trip to Vernal amazing. Stayed at the Rodeway Hotel. David destroyed his phone, leaving the gas station to get liquor. He now has an appointment in Boulder, Co to get it replaced! I should be pissed, but I'm not. It will linger like the smell of his riding boots :)
